Harsh realities are hard to face

but Lent is the time to face hard realities.

“All creation groans . . . “*

Good Friday realities follow:

Tragically, “the glory of the human

has become the desolation of the Earth.”**

We have over-used goods of the earth

so that fruits of the earth are no longer

handily available.

We have miss-used the earth

and reversed the evolving of creation

making it barren, e.g.,

increasing desertification.

The desolation of the Earth

is becoming the destiny of the human.”**

Hence microplastics in our lungs.

Hence climate refugees.

All creation does groan

but redemption of all is our hope.

Dearest Savior,

help me be generous and courageous

in attending to all you love.

Amen.
