“The day my mother was buried, the wind swept
our eyes into weeping . . . .”*
Let us compassionately weep with those
who have lost beloved family or friends.
Let us weep with those who have been separated
from family or friends.
Let us weep with those in agony
because they cannot find the means
to assist family or friends.
Let us weep with those who are victims
of violence or war or systems
excluding them from justice.
Let us weep with those displaced
by environmental disasters.
Amen.
