The Mystics warn that
what we think we know about God
might not be “God.” Hmmm.
We humbly admit that
we cannot fully comprehend
the Mystery of the Divine.
If that is so, neither can our articulations
of doctrinal and moral practices be absolute.
Again, let us be cautious
about applying norms to others
and humbly open
to new and even startling concepts.
Dear Jesus of the Gospels,
let me follow you ever more closely
then I will have a deep freedom of spirit.
Amen.
