Both/And?
Some locales are celebrating
“Columbus Day” and “Indigenous Peoples Day.”
Perhaps some mutual tolerance
is a beginning step
for opening our hearts and minds
to wherever others might be coming from
since so many factors context our ideas.
OUR Father, OUR Mother,
break open any preconceptions,
enlighten any blindspots,
guide us in attentive and
reverential listening to another
at home or in the public arena.
That way we will help bring our many “worlds”
closer to your ideal world.
