Easter Sunday

Imagine that you are courageously driven

by loving concern to go back

with Mary Magdalen

to the burial site of Jesus

planning with utter reverence to anoint

his tortured body but, shockingly,

you have found the tomb open and empty.

Then you hear Jesus’ familiar voice

addressing you by your name.

Your heart thrills with the realization:

You have risen!

This is the Resurrection reality.

This is the Alleluia moment.

Alleluia! You have risen!

You are alive and well and with us!
