“May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators
of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within
both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation of
a new heaven and a new earth.”*
On this first day of spring,
consider the seeds in the ground**
waiting through the winter
for conditions for sprouting.
Contemplate the seeds about to wake up
and open up in their wet earth cradle.
Recognize the seeds of hope in yourself.
Cultivate them through prayer,
reflection on the scripture readings of the day***,
and conversations with persons of goodness.
Amen.
