Don’t settle for a “paltry” image of God.
Do not make any one image for God idolatrous.
What we know about God is also what we do not know.
Think of God in cosmic terms.
Think of God in homey terms.
Think of God in images of the elements and creation.
Think of God in masculine and feminine imagery.
Think of God in terms of Mystery.
Ask the Holy Spirit of God to reveal aspects of the Divine.
Then contemplate the God “beyond all names”
humbly asking for a revelation of one
of God’s countless names.
Amen.
