When you do not understand

a passage of scripture,

Pray that you may see.

When you do not want to consider

a spiritual challenge,

Pray that you may see.

When you do not want to work

toward a conversion

to which you might be called,

Pray that you may see.

Jesus,

just as you opened Bartimaeus’ eyes,

open my eyes to see the truth.
