What we might do in an impasse
when perhaps a friend or acquaintance
doesn’t seem open to help
we might want to offer.
Humility occasioned by any impasse
calls us to prayer;
reminds us of our dependence on God;
prompts us to seek expertise from counselors.
Loving God, teach me patience;
lead me in your way of caring;
let me be willing simply to offer
a caring presence.
Amen.
